Zoo Negara aka the unsafest place on earth
So a week ago my 4 year old's teacher told me he could not go on the class trip to the zoo. He was upset, I was a little upset but now after a trip to said zoo, I am not upset. This woman clearly saved his life! Luke is what is called an active child. He can be downright awful in public places but can be very good too. It is sort of hit or miss what kind of day you might have with him.
So yesterday we brave the heat of KL and go to the zoo with the kids. The place is a bit of a death trap. The railings are so low even my 2 year old could have climbed over, the railings are also open, so a kid could slip undr or between. The 'moats' to keep a lot of the animals in are so small, again my 2 year old could jump them. The water keeping the lion and tiger in was about 6-10 inches deep. Here are some highlights of the zoo.

Note the low wall barrier and the 6-10 inch deep water. I don't know what they are doing to keep these cats in!?

This wall is about 6 inches tall and the deer come right up to it. Luckily Malaysian deer do not seem to be deadly!

And seriously there is no camera trickery in this photo. There is an open rail and a small hedge seperating the public from this guy.

And this falls under the cool and a little scary. For 1 RM you can feed the elephants. The kids loved it, but see the rail and the 'moat' seperating us from Jumbo is not very deep or wide. But they loved it and he loved the sugar cane - a lot.
