Quilting by the seat of my pants

How big should a queen sized quilt be?  who knows - I just laid out some squares on a quilt that fit our bed....note the sunbonnet sue quilt my Mom made a long time ago - before thinking my husband might not be so into sleeping under one.

I do not really know how to quilt.  The quilt store ladies here in KL would completely agree.  I am on my 3rd quilt and they sort of shake their heads whenever I come in.  I saw this and decided to make a Chinese coin quilt.  So far I have only sewn up the strips of Amy Butler fabric I scored on ebay.  Maybe today I will go buy more fabric and give the ladies at the quilt store more amusement - the funny thing is they all speak Mandarin to each other and don't quite realize I can understand some of what they say - usually only the 'this woman is crazy and doesn't know what she is doing' parts.

She might be making the face because I made her try on her new sweater...it is an EZ seamless yoke number.  Easy peasy, making one for the #2 son, but not in pink of course.

Countdown = better mood all around

We are 99% sure we have a leave date and it means less than 100 days left in KL.  Yippee!  I have not overly loved KL.  It is only ok.  KL is OK, maybe that can replace the Malaysia Truly Asia campaign.  

A couple of weeks ago I made my husband go with me to Daiso.  It is a 100 yen shop at The Curve mall.  Or really the 5 RM shop here.  I stocked up on some bento goodness.  I would have a problem if we ever move to Japan.  A BIG problem.
